Anker PowerCore 26800 PD is a solid powerbank with same charging performance and current stability as RAVPower 26800 PD. Anker PowerCore 26800 PD comes conveniently bundled with the Anker 30 watt USB C PD wall charger. Both of these are hand down our favorite choice as future proof fast charging powerbanks for the latest iPhone X, 8, 8+ and Samsung S9, S8, S7, Note 8 etc.
Aukey PB Y7 25600 is 25% heavier (20 oz+) than RAVPower or Anker USB PD powerbanks. It is also quite thicker as well (1.15 inches vs 0.9 inches for Anker/RAVPower) . It does come with additional QC 3.0 port though the performance of QC 3.0 and USB-C PD 18 watt is quite close. Aukey does not offer any price advantage as well to justify the extra weight and bulk.

26800 Mah PowerBanks – Understanding Different Types of Power Banks
26800mAH is the maximum capacity for powerbanks that is allowed by the TSA on flights. With 26800 mAH, you will get 5-6 full charges for Galaxy S10, S9, S8, or S7 or iPhone XR, Xs, X and 8-9 full charges for iPhone 8 and 7/6S. We can classify 26800 mAH powerbanks in three main categories:
26800 mAH with no USB PD or QuickCharge – These are lowest cost powerbanks. Features to look for in these are 2.4 amp ports for charging iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc at maximum possible speed and Androids at decent speeds. Also more ports and more total current output, the better and stable is the output for simultaneous charging. Weight and bulk are also very important due to the high capacity. Look for 2-amp input charging to charge the powerbank in about 12-14 hrs.
26800 mAH with QuickCharge 3.0/2.0 – Look for minimum QC 2.0 (18 watt) compatibility as this is becoming the standard these days. All recent Samsung phones such as S8, S9, S7, Note 8, Note 5 etc. support fastest charging at 18 watt (equal to QC 2.0). QuickCharge input for charging the powerbank itself in 4-5 hrs is also very important as these huge powerbanks will take 28 hrs or more to charge with a 1 amp regular wall charger.
26800 mAH with USB C Power Delivery (USB PD) – USB PD is emerging as the charging technology of choice in 2018. Both Google Android and Apple (beginning from iPhone X, 8, and 8+) support fast charging over USB PD. Look for maximum output in watts over USB PD possible. Minimum 18 watts is required for fast charging Samsung/Apple smartphones and Nintendo Switch. 30 watt or more is handy for charging Macbooks and iPads at fast speeds. Anker PowerCore+ 26800 is the better product here in all aspects. While the features and weight of both powerbanks are similar, Anker PowerCore+ 26800 does manage to deliver better charging 5-6% better capacity performance compared to PB Y7 in our tests due to more efficient circuits in Anker. Aukey PBY7 is a 30000 MAH QC 3.0 powerbank and goes above the TSA’s 27000 mAH battery limit. Anker 26800 stands out from the two other in fast charging times (just 8 hrs) while Aukey PB Y15 and RAVPower 26800 take 16 hours+ to recharge. Other than this, its performance closely matches that of RAVPower 26800 in stability and charging performance.
Aukey PB Y15 25600 is 25% heavier and larger than RAVPower or Anker powerbanks. However, its biggest weak point is its maximum output of 3 amp. Anker (6 amp) and RAVPower (5.5 amp) offer much more. 20000 is a good weight and price point for users who want a big powerbank at reasonable price and weight. With 26800 mAH, you will get about 4 full charges for Galaxy S9, S8, or S7 or iPhone X and 6-7 full charges for iPhone 8 and 7/6S. We can classify 20000 mAH powerbanks in three main categories:
20000mAH with no USB PD or QuickCharge – These cost the lowest. Features to look for in these are two or more 2.4 amp ports for charging iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc at maximum supported speed and Android smartphones at good speeds (12 watt). The more is the total current output, the better and stable is the charging performance while you are charging multiple devices at once. RAVPower 20000 PD is the clear winner here. For charging smartphones, all the three powerbanks are closely matched in features as well as charging performance (especially iPhone Xs, XR, XS, X, 8 which can be charged to 50% in 30 mins over USB-C PD). However, for charging Macbooks, Chromebooks, and Dell XPS 13/15, RAVPower 20000 PDhas the clear edge due to its 45-watt output.
RAVPower 20000 PD is in fact a class of its own as it offers the far higher PD output of the three – 45 watt. This is extremely useful if you own a Macbook, iPad or a USB-C chargeable ultrabook or newer models of Dell XPS 13/15 (2016 and later) as these can be fast charged through the 45 watt USB PD port on the powerbank. These powerbanks are perfect as reasonably priced all purpose powerbanks with good charging speeds. The 12-watt maximum charging speed of these powerbanks suit all the iPhones and Androids. They will also charge iPhones 7, 7S, 6S, 5 etc. at highest possible speed. The only thing that these powerbanks lack are Quickcharge or “fast charge” features (for fast topping up of phones to 50% in 30 minutes) and fast input ( for recharging entire powerbank in 4 hours).
RAVPower Ace 22000 is the best deal among these three powerbanks. With three ports and 5.8 amp maximum combined output, it beats the other two fair and square. It also offers 10% extra battery capacity and weighs almost same as the others (14.4 oz or 408 gm).
Anker PowerCore 20000 is the lightest and most compact of the three and comes with the brand premium of Anker. It has two ports and max combined output of 4.8 amp – enough to fast charge two iphones at once.
Aukey is the lowest cost of the three but is also the bulkiest and heaviest. It also has the lowest combined output at 3.4 amp and is really suited for charging one device well. It also comes with a lightning input for recharging (2 amp or 12 hrs)). This makes it a good choice for very-low-cost & big capacity (but slightly bulky) powerbank companion for an iphone – though we will personally prefer a PowerCore 20100 for its dual fast charge capability and compactness or a RAVPower Ace 22000 for ist triple fast charge ports & relative compactness.
All of them will take about similar times (10 – 12 hrs) to recharge using a 2.4 amp wall charger.
10000mAH Power Banks
10000 mAH is the minimum reasonable powerbank size these days due to the ever-increasing power hungry nature of smartphones. A 10000 mAH powerbank will charge iPhones 8, 7, 6, 5s about three times. it will charge Samsung S8, S9, S7, Note 8 etc about 2+ times.
Features to look for
18-watt fast charging will be enable you to quickly top-up the phone when you are in a hurry. For example, QuickCharge 3.0 enables 80% charge in 30 minutes while fast charge (Quickcharge 2.0 equivalent) used by Samsung phones allows 50% charge in 30 minutes.
18-watt fast charging is the maximum supported by most Android smartphones such as Samsung S9, S8, S7, etc. Additionally, iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc. will also at their fastest speed (12 watt) with these powerbanks.
So, unless you own a Quickcharge 3.0 phone and absolutely need that 80% in 30 minute lightning quick top-up, 18-watt fast charging powerbanks are best value for money bet among 10000 mah powerbanks. Please note that for super-fast charging (50% in 30 minutes) of iPhone X, 8, and 8+, you will require USB PD powerbanks and there is currently no such powerbank in 10000 mah capacity. Therefore 18-watt fast charging or regular 12-watt powerbanks are currently your best option for iPhone X, 8, and 8+.
12 watt or 2.4 amp charging – 12 watt fast charging is next best thing after fast charging. The good thing is that almost all iPhones and Android phones support it. 12 watt charging powerbanks are not only inexpensive but allow you to extract maximum capacity from the small sized powerbanks such as 10000 mAH as they charge using lower voltage (5 volt) compared to 9 volts of quickcharge.
