Anker is at present the market leader in power banks even as RAVPower and Aukey have emerged as popular power bank and charger manufacturers. In addition to offering power banks, wall chargers, and cell phone accessories, both RAVPower and Aukey offer many products with features and functionality not provided by any Anker products.
RAVPower has usually been quicker with innovative additional features compared to Anker and often launches products with interesting feature-mixes not offered by Anker. In our experience, RAVPower power banks offer the same quality, features, and customer service as Anker at a lower price. Aukey on the other hand largely targets the value-end of the market and many of its power banks cost much lower than comparable products from Anker and RAVPower. However, so far our general impression is that Aukey products are behind Anker and RAVPower in terms of build quality. Also, Aukey powerbanks are usually bulkier and heavier than Anker/RAVPower and this counts against Aukey power banks.
We will compare, test, and analyse performance and features of Anker, RAVPower, and Aukey across various battery capacities and three major fast-charging technologies (USB-C PD, Quickcharge 3.0 and 2.4 amp charging).

Anker PowerCore 26800 PD is a solid powerbank with same charging performance and current stability as RAVPower 26800 PD. Anker PowerCore 26800 PD comes conveniently bundled with the Anker 30 watt USB C PD wall charger. Both of these are hand down our favorite choice as future proof fast charging powerbanks for the latest iPhone X, 8, 8+ and Samsung S9, S8, S7, Note 8 etc.
Aukey PB Y7 25600 is 25% heavier (20 oz+) than RAVPower or Anker USB PD powerbanks. It is also quite thicker as well (1.15 inches vs 0.9 inches for Anker/RAVPower) . It does come with additional QC 3.0 port though the performance of QC 3.0 and USB-C PD 18 watt is quite close. Aukey does not offer any price advantage as well to justify the extra weight and bulk.
Considering all these factors, we will easily recommend RAVPower 26800 PD (for a PD powerbank without wall charger) and Anker PowerCore 26800 PD (for a PD powerbank with USB-C wall charger).
26800 Mah PowerBanks – Understanding Different Types of Power Banks
26800mAH is the maximum capacity for powerbanks that is allowed by the TSA on flights. With 26800 mAH, you will get 5-6 full charges for Galaxy S10, S9, S8, or S7 or iPhone XR, Xs, X and 8-9 full charges for iPhone 8 and 7/6S. We can classify 26800 mAH powerbanks in three main categories:
26800 mAH with no USB PD or QuickCharge – These are lowest cost powerbanks. Features to look for in these are 2.4 amp ports for charging iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc at maximum possible speed and Androids at decent speeds. Also more ports and more total current output, the better and stable is the output for simultaneous charging. Weight and bulk are also very important due to the high capacity. Look for 2-amp input charging to charge the powerbank in about 12-14 hrs.
26800 mAH with QuickCharge 3.0/2.0 – Look for minimum QC 2.0 (18 watt) compatibility as this is becoming the standard these days. All recent Samsung phones such as S8, S9, S7, Note 8, Note 5 etc. support fastest charging at 18 watt (equal to QC 2.0). QuickCharge input for charging the powerbank itself in 4-5 hrs is also very important as these huge powerbanks will take 28 hrs or more to charge with a 1 amp regular wall charger.
26800 mAH with USB C Power Delivery (USB PD) – USB PD is emerging as the charging technology of choice in 2018. Both Google Android and Apple (beginning from iPhone X, 8, and 8+) support fast charging over USB PD. Look for maximum output in watts over USB PD possible. Minimum 18 watts is required for fast charging Samsung/Apple smartphones and Nintendo Switch. 30 watt or more is handy for charging Macbooks and iPads at fast speeds. USB C PD input charging is also a must to recharge the powerbank in 4-5 hrs.

Anker PowerCore+ 26800 is the better product here in all aspects. While the features and weight of both powerbanks are similar, Anker PowerCore+ 26800 does manage to deliver better charging 5-6% better capacity performance compared to PB Y7 in our tests due to more efficient circuits in Anker. Anker PowerCore+ 26800 gets charged much faster (5 hours using a QC 3.0 wall charger) and is also the sturdier product among the two as well.
Aukey PBY7 is a 30000 MAH QC 3.0 powerbank and goes above the TSA’s 27000 mAH battery limit. Also, despite being a powerbank for Quickcharge 3.0 phones, the Aukey PB Y7 powerbank itselfcannotbe charged quickly using a QuickCharge 3.0 wall charger like the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 . It takes 8 hrs to charge PBY7 using a cumbersome dual USB-C/micro-USB C mode.

Anker PowerCore 26800 | RAVPower 26800 | RAVPower 26800 | Which is Better? | |
---|---|---|---|---|
RAVPower 26800 is the winner here due to its incredible price/performance/features. It is lightest and most compact while offering same battery capacity and nearly same total charging output amd that too at a much lower price than Anker 26800 Anker 26800's biggest plus is that it gets charged in 8 hrs but this still does not justify the high price Aukey PB Y15 is too bulky and with too low total output (3 amp) compared to the other two. Also even though it has USB-C output, it does nnot have USB PD support | ||||

Size | 7 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches | 7.9 x 3.78 x .9 | 6.77 x 0.79 x 3.15 inches | RAVPower |
Anker 26800 stands out from the two other in fast charging times (just 8 hrs) while Aukey PB Y15 and RAVPower 26800 take 16 hours+ to recharge. Other than this, its performance closely matches that of RAVPower 26800 in stability and charging performance.
Aukey PB Y15 25600 is 25% heavier and larger than RAVPower or Anker powerbanks. However, its biggest weak point is its maximum output of 3 amp. Anker (6 amp) and RAVPower (5.5 amp) offer much more. Large maximum output means that you can charge 2 or even 3 devices simultaneously at fast charging speeds (2.1 amp each for iPhone 7/6s and 2 to 3 amp each for most Androids etc.)
Considering all these factors, we will easily recommend RAVPower 26800
20000 Mah PowerBanks
20000 is a good weight and price point for users who want a big powerbank at reasonable price and weight. With 26800 mAH, you will get about 4 full charges for Galaxy S9, S8, or S7 or iPhone X and 6-7 full charges for iPhone 8 and 7/6S. We can classify 20000 mAH powerbanks in three main categories:
20000mAH with no USB PD or QuickCharge – These cost the lowest. Features to look for in these are two or more 2.4 amp ports for charging iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc at maximum supported speed and Android smartphones at good speeds (12 watt). The more is the total current output, the better and stable is the charging performance while you are charging multiple devices at once. Weight and bulk are also significant factors as well as the high capacity batteries can weigh well over 1 pound! Minimum 2-amp input charging is required to charge the powerbank in about 10-12 hrs.
20000 mAH with QuickCharge 3.0/2.0 – Minimum QC 2.0 (18 watt) fast charging compatibility is required as this is becoming the standard with latest Samsung smartphones such as S8, S9, S7, Note 8, Note 5 etc. support fastest charging at 18 watt (equal to QC 2.0). Another highly useful feature is QuickCharge input for charging the powerbank itself in about 4 hrs as otherwise it may take up to 24 hrs or more to charge a 20000 mAh powerbank with a 1 amp regular wall charger.
20000mAH with USB C Power Delivery (USB PD) – USB PD is set to become the charging standard of choice for 2018 and near future. Both Google Android and Apple (iPhone X, 8, and 8+ onwards) now support 18-watt fast charging over USB PD. Ideally a powerbank must have as much output in watts over USB PD as possible. For smartphones, minimum 18 watts is required for fast charging the Samsung/Apple smartphones as well as the Nintendo Switch. Higher PD output will be very useful for fast charging Macbooks and iPads. USB C PD input charging is also desirablgreatly useful for recharging the powerbank in 4 hrs.

RAVPower 20000 PD is the clear winner here. For charging smartphones, all the three powerbanks are closely matched in features as well as charging performance (especially iPhone Xs, XR, XS, X, 8 which can be charged to 50% in 30 mins over USB-C PD). However, for charging Macbooks, Chromebooks, and Dell XPS 13/15, RAVPower 20000 PDhas the clear edge due to its 45-watt output.
RAVPower 20000 PD is in fact a class of its own as it offers the far higher PD output of the three – 45 watt. This is extremely useful if you own a Macbook, iPad or a USB-C chargeable ultrabook or newer models of Dell XPS 13/15 (2016 and later) as these can be fast charged through the 45 watt USB PD port on the powerbank. It also gets charged slightly faster (4 hrs) than Aukey and as same speed as Anker.
Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 PD is the most compact of the three. If you need the most compact PD powerbank and a USB-C PD wall charger for your powerbank, PowerCore Speed 20000 PD is a good choice. It is any day a better deal the Aukey PB Y20 as after adjusting for the wall charger it is priced same as PBY20 even though it has higher output (Anker has 24 watt vs Aukey’s 18 watt). PowerCore Speed 2000 PD also gets charged much faster (4hrs) than Aukey PB Y20 (6 hrs).
That being said, if you already own a 30-watt USB PD wall charger and want the lowest-cost good quality fast charger for your iPhone X, 8, 8+ or other latest Android smartphones than RAVPower 20000 PD is hands-down the best USB PD standalone power bank available.

The three powerbanks are very different and the best powerbank among these will depend on what smartphones you have and what features you need.
If you need fastest charging smartphones for Samsung smartphones S9, S8, S7, Note 8 etc. then you do not need to buy the usually higher priced QC 3.0 powerbanks as Samsung phones use 18 watt fast charge at max (equivalent to QC 2.0) and you can instead buy either RAVPower 20100 QC or Anker PowerCore II 20000 .
If you own a QuickCharge 3.0 smartphone such as the one listed here, then:
If you want to charge your phone the quickest and also charge the powerbank as fast as possible (in 4-5 hours), we recommend Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 or RAVPower 20100 QC . Both of these have QC 3.0 input feature for charging the powerbank using a QC 3.0 wall charger in 4-5 hrs. RAVPower 20100 QC also has an additional USB-C output as well as input feature that lets you recharge using a USb-C cable in 4 hrs. Aukey PB10 does not have QC 3.0 input.
Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 is easily the sleekest and most compact powerbank of the three. Aukey PB 10 is the bulkiest with RAVPower 20100 being between the two.
If you want the lowest cost QuickCharge 3.0 charger for your Quickcharge phone and are okay with the powerbank being charged in 12 hrs (using a 2 amp standard USB wall charger) than Aukey PB 10 is a good choice.

Both Anker 20100 and RAVPower 20800 are superb powerbanks with RAVPower 20800 being better package overall due to its attractive price. Anker PowerCore 20100 is slimmer and lighter than RAVPower 20800 but a bit overpriced. RAVPower 20800 offers one more USB port & higher total charging current (5.5 amp) For charging maximum 2 devices at a time, we will pick Anker PowerCore 20100 for its low weight/sleekness For heavy duty use for charging more than 2 devices at once, we will pick RAVPower 20800 | ||||

These powerbanks are perfect as reasonably priced all purpose powerbanks with good charging speeds. The 12-watt maximum charging speed of these powerbanks suit all the iPhones and Androids. They will also charge iPhones 7, 7S, 6S, 5 etc. at highest possible speed. The only thing that these powerbanks lack are Quickcharge or “fast charge” features (for fast topping up of phones to 50% in 30 minutes) and fast input ( for recharging entire powerbank in 4 hours).
RAVPower Ace 22000 is the best deal among these three powerbanks. With three ports and 5.8 amp maximum combined output, it beats the other two fair and square. It also offers 10% extra battery capacity and weighs almost same as the others (14.4 oz or 408 gm).
Anker PowerCore 20000 is the lightest and most compact of the three and comes with the brand premium of Anker. It has two ports and max combined output of 4.8 amp – enough to fast charge two iphones at once.
Aukey is the lowest cost of the three but is also the bulkiest and heaviest. It also has the lowest combined output at 3.4 amp and is really suited for charging one device well. It also comes with a lightning input for recharging (2 amp or 12 hrs)). This makes it a good choice for very-low-cost & big capacity (but slightly bulky) powerbank companion for an iphone – though we will personally prefer a PowerCore 20100 for its dual fast charge capability and compactness or a RAVPower Ace 22000 for ist triple fast charge ports & relative compactness.
All of them will take about similar times (10 – 12 hrs) to recharge using a 2.4 amp wall charger.
10000mAH Power Banks
10000 mAH is the minimum reasonable powerbank size these days due to the ever-increasing power hungry nature of smartphones. A 10000 mAH powerbank will charge iPhones 8, 7, 6, 5s about three times. it will charge Samsung S8, S9, S7, Note 8 etc about 2+ times.
Features to look for
18-watt fast charging will be enable you to quickly top-up the phone when you are in a hurry. For example, QuickCharge 3.0 enables 80% charge in 30 minutes while fast charge (Quickcharge 2.0 equivalent) used by Samsung phones allows 50% charge in 30 minutes.
18-watt fast charging is the maximum supported by most Android smartphones such as Samsung S9, S8, S7, etc. Additionally, iPhones 7, 6, 5 etc. will also at their fastest speed (12 watt) with these powerbanks.
So, unless you own a Quickcharge 3.0 phone and absolutely need that 80% in 30 minute lightning quick top-up, 18-watt fast charging powerbanks are best value for money bet among 10000 mah powerbanks. Please note that for super-fast charging (50% in 30 minutes) of iPhone X, 8, and 8+, you will require USB PD powerbanks and there is currently no such powerbank in 10000 mah capacity. Therefore 18-watt fast charging or regular 12-watt powerbanks are currently your best option for iPhone X, 8, and 8+.
12 watt or 2.4 amp charging – 12 watt fast charging is next best thing after fast charging. The good thing is that almost all iPhones and Android phones support it. 12 watt charging powerbanks are not only inexpensive but allow you to extract maximum capacity from the small sized powerbanks such as 10000 mAH as they charge using lower voltage (5 volt) compared to 9 volts of quickcharge. This allows these powerbanks to extract more battery mAH than fast charging powerbanks
Weight/bulk – Portability and compactness/slimness is an important factor as often the best power bank is the one that you can carry around easily in your pocket, purse, or hand!
Anker PowerCore II 10000 vs Aukey PB-T14 and PB-T18 vs RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0
18-watt fast charging Powerbanks for Samsung S10, S9, S8, S7 and Iphone 8, 7,6,5
Anker PowerCore II 10000 and RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 are our top picks as 18-watt fast charging powerbanks for Samsung S9, S8, S7, series phones as well as other Android smartphones that support 18-watt fast charge.
Anker PowerCore II 10000 is the lightest and most compact of the three while RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 is the slimmest and most pocketable at .6 inches. Aukey PB-T14 is thickest (.8 inches) and the heaviest. RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 is also currently available at the lowest price among the three powerbanks.
If you have a Samsung phone, we recommend either Anker PowerCore II 10000 or the RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0.
If you have a Quickcharge 3.0 phone, (see the section below) we recommend RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 due to its Quickcharge 3.0 Input/Output support and slim pocketable profile and light weight (7 oz).
All these powerbanks will get charged in about 5 hrs using a Quickcharge 3.0 wall charger.

RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 is our top pick as a Quickcharge 3.0 powerbank as it is very slim, light , robust, very well priced and also delivers stable charging performance with true 10000 mAH capacity.
While Anker PowerCore 10000 Speed is a great powerbank, we believe it is way overpriced at the moment. We do not recommend Aukey PB-T14 and PB-T18 due to reliability concerns.

Anker PowerCore 10000 is our top pick as ultralight 10000 mAH 12-watt/2.4 amp powerbank. It is simply the lightest, most compact and reliable powerbank of the three. No other non-Quickcharge 10000 mah powerbank provides a comparable combination of compactness and reliability.
The only “problem” with Anker Powercore 10000 is that you can get the excellent, slim, 18-watt fast-charging QuickCharge 3.0 compatible RAVPower 10000 QC 3.0 at almost the same or lower price!
If your budget requires as low price as possible and you do not mind the extra 2.5 oz weight and larger size than PowerCore 10000, then RAVPower 10000 (the version without QC 3.0) is the best choice.
